Monte Polo 27

Oil on Canvas (with plastic bubbles), Rochester, 2004

100cm x 86cm

For this painting, Guadalupe researched the movement of a washing machine. He comments, "I am trying to explore the speed and capacity of how it works."

He has used different shapes, such as tablets and computer mouses (mice??), along with some holes, in an attempt to modernise the style. The arrangement represents a part of our new technology, and the way we are moving into the future.

He adds, "This gives us the feeling in our minds of landing on another planet, yet we are still acting with an unconscious truth, as the bubbles are protecting the secret of our new modernism."
