Metro Pop 07

Oil on Canvas (with plastic bubbles), Rochester, 2004

100cm x 88cm

Metro Pop 07 is the contrast of two chairs against the sun. What Guadalupe is trying to express is the shadows at three in the afternoon on a summer's day.

There are three bubbles stuck to an Aztec shape, symbolising the path to the secret of modernism, not doubting that the new style can be found in our unconscious minds, and after experimenting with these symbols, we become part of it. This is the moment when society will open its eyes to give its own values to the new era.

In essence, Metro Pop is a machine that helps us travel forward in time to a glimpse of the future.
