Computer Dreams

Oil on Paper, Feltham, 2002

Computer dreams is about how the human being wants to be made by computer, in the same way that nowadays art and music has been enhanced by the use of technology. It is therefore a warning against trusting a computer as if it were your best friend.

Part of the image shows the bottom of an aeroplane, indicating that whenever we travel it is as if somebody is playing a computer game, guiding us to our destination and our own fate.

At the bottom, the arrow and spear represent both the moment of conception, and the injection of some kind of unknown material into the body, such as the introduction of a computer virus. This serves as a reminder of how much knowledge human beings have achieved.
