Eternity

Painted in Somerset, Eternity is a representation of Guadalupe's mother Tomasa, painted to show her despair at the addiction of her brothers to the alcohol that ruined her own family due to the excessive drinking of her violent husband. The tears are for the families of her brothers, whose lives are affected by persistent alcoholism. Tomasa is here shown as an indigenous woman tired of the life she is forced to lead. Her hand is shown as roughened, scarred from working in the field.
