Dreams of the Sun

Dreams of the Sun is dedicated to the poor people who work long hours in the fields, especially the peasants. A face is surrounded by bright colours, representing a hot summer, but you also see a dark sky which symbolises a quiet night for praying by firelight. It is reminiscent of Aztec spiritual ceremonies.

Painted in Guadalupe's first few months in London, in 2000, Dreams of the Sun spent most of 2002 on exhibition in London, and shortly after returning "home", was eventually sold to a buyer in London in December 2002.
